Manx2.com Increases Newcastle Schedule

by isleofman.com 17th October 2011
From 29th October Manx2.com is adding a Saturday service to Newcastle in addition to its existing schedule. The new service will depart the Isle of Man at 1055 and return from Newcastle at 1325. Chairman of Manx2.com, Noel Hayes, said: ‘Our service to Newcastle has performed well throughout the summer period and we have had many requests to increase weekend frequency. Our new Saturday service will add capacity on the route and get passengers to the great City of Newcastle before noon. It will also give supporters of high-flying Premiership team Newcastle United plenty of time to reach St James' Park on match days.’ Flight times are just under one hour and prices start from ?49.95 (including all charges) one way. Chris Sanders, Newcastle Airport Aviation Development Director said: ‘We are delighted at the addition of this Saturday flight making travel even easier between here and the Isle of Man. We expect the extra flight to be very popular with leisure travellers enjoying a short break in the North East, perhaps coming across for shopping, to watch football or travel further beyond. From here, the Isle of Man makes for an interesting short break destination which is now even easier to reach with Manx2’s low cost flights.’ Geoff Corkish MBE, Political Member for Isle of Man Tourism said: ‘Frequent and convenient air links are key to the Island in terms of both commerce and tourism. We have welcomed many visitors from the Newcastle area and this additional weekend service will undoubtedly be of further benefit.’ To follow Manx2.com on twitter: http://twitter.com/FlyManx2 And on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/FlyManx2 ENDS
