Ramsey Civic Sunday Service Focuses On Regeneration and Community

by isleofman.com 19th October 2011
Ramsey’s civic service was held on Sunday October 16. Hosted by the chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners Captain Nigel Malpass, the service was preceded by a parade led by the Ramsey Town Band from the Town Hall, along Parliament Street into Waterloo Road, ending at the Trinity United Reform Church. Opening prayers were led by the Rev Philip Smith and the service was conducted by the chairman's chaplain the Rev Lionel Thomas who, in his address, spoke of the strong sense of community that flourished in the town and of the regeneration projects that would contribute to revitalising Ramsey. Readings were by Moira Chrystal and Captain Malpass; musical items by the Scoill Ree Gorree folk group and Marlene Hendy and Dylis Sowry. Organist was Andrew Smith. ENDS
