The annual Autumn Junior Open tournament, sponsored by Panacea Pharma Projects, was concluded on Sunday and on schedule. Some of the players are showing great potential at a very young age and most improved player awards were given to Joseph Jones (RED BALL), Hollie Robertson (ORANGE BALL) and Massimo Formby and Alex Conti (GREEN BALL). President, Bryan Sharp, thanked referee Ian Watson and his assistant Sally Walker, the parents and children who co-operated with the match schedule and all who umpired, particularly for the RED BALL groups. On behalf of PPP, Matthew McSevney, congratulated the club on the standard of junior tennis and the comprehensive programme now in place, PPP are very happy to continue supporting the club. It will only take 5 – 10 mins but will help the committee to plan future events or correct any problems. The annual competition for the Albany Flitch will be held on Sunday October 23 starting at 3pm. This is a married couples tournament but only one player needs to be an Albany member and couples are also eligible. This event is an automatic handicap, round robin format.
