Consultation On The Future Recreational Use of The Island's Reservoirs

by isleofman.com 20th October 2011
The Water and Sewerage Authority invites members of the public to give their views on the future recreational use of the Island’s reservoirs in a consultation process that will commence at 9am on Monday, 31st October and finish at 5pm on Friday 9th December. The Authority will carefully consider all the views submitted and will balance them alongside the requirement to protect the Island’s raw water resources and the Health and Safety of the public. The Authority is committed to promoting reasonable access to the reservoirs for recreational purposes; however, this must be weighed against the need for public safety and the protection of these valuable assets. The Authority is seeking a sound evidence base on which to develop the Authority’s Recreational Use Policy and, as such, the public’s input into this process is invaluable. The consultation document provides details of the process and includes a questionnaire which can be downloaded for completion and return to the Authority. Alternatively, the questionnaire can also be submitted online by completing the SurveyMonkey form which can be found along within the consultation document under “Current Consultations” on the Government website consultation page, http://www.gov.im/consultations.gov. Responses may also be e-mailed to karen.westcott@gov.im ENDS
