Claremont Hotel Announces The Second Phase of Their Near ?2 Million Upgrade

by isleofman.com 28th October 2011
The Claremont Hotel has begun work on the second phase of its comprehensive upgrade, which will cost over ?1.5 million in total. The development project, which will start at the end of October, and see an additional ten rooms developed into ‘Luxury Sea View’ suites; all of which are designed to perfectly fit the requirements of business travellers. During the first part of the year, The Claremont completed the first phase of its upgrade project, which saw a ?1 million spend on a complete renovation of twenty of the hotel’s rooms. In order to ensure that the rooms were perfectly in line with what business executives require, Sleepwell undertook a comprehensive survey before any of the new rooms were designed. The executive suites have all been designed to incorporate the feedback, with the needs of the modern business traveller in mind. Every room is equipped with high-speed wireless broadband, docking facilities for iPods, 32” flat screen televisions, Blu-Ray players, fully tiled wet-rooms, super-king sized beds, ‘Hungarian Goose Down’ pillows and ‘Tempur’ pressure relieving mattresses. In the second phase, approximately ?50,000 will be spent on each of the new suites, a figure far in advance of the hotel industry average of ?20,000 per room. This will be followed by the final stage of the Claremont upgrade; a complete overhaul of the reception and lounge areas. It will create a contemporary reception space, bringing the hotel up to the highest standards of international design and quality. The final phase to be undertaken early in the New Year, will also create a new lounge area, where guests will be able to informally relax, hold business meetings and enjoy coffee throughout the day as well as enjoying cocktails in the evening. Mark Wilson, Managing Director of Sleepwell Hotels commented: “We hope that this on-going project will further position The Claremont as the perfect place to stay for the modern business traveller. We have worked hard to ensure that it is a destination that companies can recommend to their business associates reliably, safe in the knowledge of the high standard that they will encounter, and that their positive impression of Manx business culture will be compounded by their accommodation. I strongly believe that, by its constant commitment to achieving high international standards, The Claremont has become the Island’s premier choice for hosting business guests on the Island”. ENDS
