Art Exhibition and Auction In Aid of Local Carers' Charity

Crossroads Caring for Carers Charity Art Exhibition and Auction at the Hodgson Loom Gallery will open to the public from Monday 21st November. Artwork from Sharon Burl, Eileen Schaer, Diane McCudden, Hazel Walsh, Simon Park, Felicity Wood and Roberto Edmanson-Harrison will be on display. Over 40 local artists have donated artwork to the cause. Their artwork will be on display for two weeks when members of the public are encouraged visit the Gallery and view the visual spectacle. The Exhibition in aid of Crossroads will open with an official launch, supported by Isle of Man Creamery and Green Mann Spring Water, on Monday 21st November at 7.00pm. The launch is open to all and will offer a chance to preview artworks and meet the artists while enjoying cheese and wine. The purpose of the exhibition is to highlight the quality artwork that originates in the Isle of Man and raise funds for the local Carers charity by auctioning all artwork on Friday 2nd December. The auction will take place at the Hodgson Loom Gallery on Friday 2nd December at 7.00pm. The auction will be hosted by Crystals Auctions and will provide an opportunity for visitors to the Gallery to buy one off pieces of original art. A sealed bid box will be available throughout the Exhibition for visitors to bid on pieces before the auction night. Alex Wilson, Event Co-ordinator, said: "I would like to thank Julia, Curator at the Hodgson Loom Gallery for offering us the opportunity to host an Exhibition. It is an exciting opportunity for Crossroads and for participating artists to display their work as well as raise funds for charity." "The Exhibition will be a real treat for everyone and I hope many visitors pass through the doors of the Gallery during the 2 week exhibit and have the unique experience of viewing over 40 artist work in one place." "There will be something to suit everyone's tastes including blown glass jewellery, painted glasswork, pencil drawings, paintings and photography. Of course, thanks must be paid to the artists for their generosity in donating artwork for the Exhibition and Auction". Crossroads Caring for Carers Isle of Man is a local charity that provides respite care breaks for family and informal Carers looking after a family member, friend or neighbour with an illness, disability, frailty, substance abuse or mental health problem on the Isle of Man.
