An evening of musical magic awaits as West End Gold returns to the Villa Marina on Sunday 4th December 2011 at 7.30pm.
After a sell out performance in March, the cast of West End Gold will once again bring you an unforgettable evening of songs from some of the world’s favourite musicals along with a sprinkling of festive classics. And for the first time, stars from the London stage will join together with the finest local talent to bring you a very special Christmas show.
The Isle of Man’s Stephen Palfreman will again be starring in the show and he is delighted to be bringing West End Gold back to the island. “When we were here in March we were overwhelmed with the reaction the show received” he said. “We were lucky enough to have Samantha Barks as our special guest and both the audience and the performers had a fantastic night.”
Amongst the cast will be seasoned West End performers who have performed in shows including Les Miserable, Miss Saigon, We Will Rock You, Phantom of The Opera, Blood Brothers and many more. Also flying in for the evening will be the West End Gold show band which will be lead by Andy Smith whose credits include The Lion King, Les Miserable, Cats, Thriller Live and Buddy.
The cast will also be joined by The Manx Operatic Society and Douglas Choral Union who will be performing a preview of their forthcoming shows in 2012. And the cast from The Youth Art Centre’s production of Rent which played to great acclaim at the Gaiety in September will perform “Seasons of Love” from the show.
Stephen added “We really wanted to involve some of the societies from the island and we’re really looking forward to working with them. It’s a great chance for our West End cast and local performers to work together and the evening will be a great celebration of the amazing standard of talent on the island.”
Stephen who is currently playing Mickey in the West End production of Blood Brothers said “As always there’ll be songs from lots of the well known musicals but we really want to give the show a festive flavour so there’ll be plenty of music to really get you into the Christmas spirit. There’ll be something for everybody and we hope to have the audience on their feet again at the end of the show!”
