‘Claus’ and Effect: The 2011 Santa Tram Service

by isleofman.com 8th November 2011
Santa trams will, once again, be a ‘transport of delight’ for families this Christmas. Douglas Borough Council is to operate its ever-popular Santa tram service this December. Leisure Services Committee Chairman Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘The Santa trams are always hugely popular with children and adults…and also provide some appealing photo opportunities. The ?7.50 ticket price represents excellent value for money for this unique experience that offers a 40-minute return trip from the Strathallan terminus on an illuminated tram and includes a visit to Santa in his grotto, a gift and refreshments in the Strathallan Suite.’ The 2011 Santa tram service will operate on Saturday 17th, Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th December. Departures from the Strathallan terminus will be at 10.00am, 10.40am, 11.20am, 1.00pm, 1.40pm, 2.20pm, 3.00pm and 3.40pm. Tickets are ?7.50 for adults and children. Children under two accompanied by a fare-paying adult travel free. (One child per adult). Tickets go on sale on Friday November 11 and are available from the Borough Treasurer’s counter at Douglas Town Hall or by telephoning 696344. ENDS
