Douglas R.N.L.I To Raffle A House!!!!

The Douglas Branch R.N.L.I Fund Raising Committee, have been donated a magnificent gingerbread house, the creation of Mrs Angela Malone of Douglas, Mrs Malone has asked that the house, which is fully furnished and comes with it’s own lighting feature, and will make the most wonderful centre piece on the winners Christmas Table to be used to raise funds for the R.N.L.I, and with Christmas fast approaching the Fund Raising Committee Chairman Mr Steven Buttery has suggested a raffle, with tickets costing a pound a strip available from Committee members at the following locations: Mr Simon McFerran, Morleys Newsagents, Prospect Hill Douglas, and will be available from Saturday 11th November - 10th December 2011 in the Sea Terminal at the Welcome Centre when the popular R.N.L.I Christmas gifts and card shop opens with Mr Steven Buttery Chairman of the Fund Raising Committee and his eager R.N.L.I fund raising supporters, so come along and purchase your Christmas cards and gifts. Mr Buttery would like everyone to come down and support the R.N.L.I, and wanted to tell them that the money raised in the raffle and sale of R.N.L.I gifts and cards will help the R.N.L.I in the cost of replacing the old lifejackets; not only across the Island but in the UK and Ireland as well, at a cost to the R.N.L.I of over ?200,000 in the coming year, the Douglas lifeboat needs 27 at a cost of ?260 each, he went on to say, without the support of people like Mrs Malone who give up their time and effort to support the R.N.L.I, we would not be able to continue are vital work as the only voluntary and solely dependent on donations from the public, that helps to fund our crews and shore line volunteers to be able to save lives in and around the sea. The Douglas Branch R.N.L.I Fund Raising Committee would like to thank the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure for letting us use the Welcome Centre once again. The draw for the Gingerbread House will take place at: The Douglas Ladies Lifeboat Guild’s Christmas Cracker. To be held at Cronkbourne House, Tromode.
