New Community Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre

by isleofman.com 11th November 2011
The Children’s Centre has appointed Susie Cox as Community Fundraiser. Prior to joining the charity she worked for an egaming firm on the Island and was involved in liaising with Premier League football teams sponsored by the company. Susie also works part-time as a youth worker and organises youth clubs and other events for children and teenagers. She said: “I’ve always loved working with children so my new job is perfect for me and I’m looking forward to organising fundraising events which are enjoyable for the whole community to take part in. The Children’s Centre is a great place to work and everyone is really friendly and supportive.” One of the things which attracted Susie to apply to work at the charity was because it has twice won a place in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies lists. It was sixth in this year’s 100 Best Places To Work In The Public And Charity Sectors list, and 83rd in the 2010 list of the 100 Best Small Companies To Work For. Susie gained a degree in fashion promotion at the University of Central Lancashire and while there she worked part-time at a nursery. She has also worked in the circulation department at Isle of Man Newspapers. John Knight, Chief Executive of The Children’s Centre, said: “As Community Fundraiser, Susie is playing a key role in the development of The Children’s Centre and all of the services we provide. Fundraising is becoming more and more of a challenge for us and all other charities, but I’m confident that Susie has the qualities and skills to make her successful in her new role.” ENDS
