Thornton Associates celebrated their 10th Anniversary at a party held at their offices on 2 November 2011. The event coincided with their move to new premises following expansion of the business and its staff.
At the event, guests enjoyed a selection of wines and cheeses, and a tour of the new offices at Media House in Cronkbourne. The new building is much larger and features meeting rooms and a number of offices, making it easier for Thornton Associates to meet clients’ needs; as well as being closer to Douglas town centre.
In its ten year history, Thornton Associates has been the leading financial planning firm on the Island certainly in terms of its professional qualifications. The company was the Island’s first firm of Chartered Financial Planners, being awarded this title in February 2009; and was later granted a further licence as a General Insurance Intermediary in November 2010. To date there is only one other chartered practice on the Island. The ten years has also seen the company expand considerably in terms of staff numbers – with a 50% increase in the last twelve months - and areas of expertise. Throughout the last decade, Thornton Associates has consistently provided independent financial advice and asset protection solutions to private individuals, trustees and business owners.
Having given support to local charities Wish Upon a Dream and Sailing for the Disabled, supporting local communities through underwriting concerts at Peel Centenary Centre for the past 2 seasons, as well as working with the Department of Economic Development to hold free Financial Planning seminars, Thornton Associates continue to invest in the local community.
