Managers Told ‘On Yer Bike!’ - Children In Need Event

by isleofman.com 14th November 2011
Children in Need is an annual British charity appeal organised by the BBC. Since 1980 it has raised over ?500 million. The highlight of the Children in Need appeal is an annual telethon, held in November. A teddy bear named "Pudsey Bear" fronts the campaign, while Terry Wogan is a long standing host. Children in Need is one of three high-profile British telethons, the others being Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, both supporting the Comic Relief charity. Social Services Children and Families section have undertaken to get involved in a charity challenge with the aim to raise as much money as possible for Children on Friday 18th November 2011. They want to encourage their partners who they work with day in day out to come along and support them. It will involve the Managers taking on workers to see who can complete the most miles on a stationary bike (kindly donated from fit for hire IOM) on the day! The event is being sponsored by Thomas Miller Investment, Isle of Man. We would welcome any support from the public and the media accompanied obviously by any money that you may want to donate for children in need. - ENDS -
