Request For Information - Missing Tortoise

by isleofman.com 17th November 2011
Between Wednesday 9th November and Friday 11th November residents living in the area of Woodbourne Road and Woodside Terrace have discovered the family tortoise has gone missing from the rear garden. This tortoise is some 25 years old and about 12” long from head to toe. It is a Greek Spur-thigh and is on the endangered species list, it is male and has a small spur on each of its rear legs, hence the name. Although the tortoise is due to go into hibernation its owners are certain this has not happened yet as it always hibernates in the same place and is not there. If anybody has seen this tortoise or finds it the owners would be very grateful if it could be taken to the nearest police station ENDS
