Ramsey To The Fore Yet Again

by isleofman.com 25th November 2011
First it was the Daily Mirror singing the praises of Ramsey and now it’s Golf Monthly. The national specialist magazine Golf Monthly’s December issue is featuring Ramsey Golf Club as one of 100 ‘hidden gem’ golf courses in the UK, a list of venues singled out as warranting ‘a much closer look’. Golf Monthly sums up its hidden gems list as ‘the types of course which leave the golfer with a smile on their face for a number of reasons be it ambience, presentation, strong design, stand-out holes, sheer variety, quirkiness, or simply for being different.’ The list is compiled as comprehensively and democratically as possible, with input from county and regional golf unions, senior panelists from the magazine, and a growing number of keen and frequent golfers who contribute to a forum website. Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Nigel Malpass said: ‘Ramsey is fortunate to have such an exceptional golf course in the heart of town and I am delighted that Ramsey Golf Club should have been recognised in such a respected publication. Following so soon after such a positive review from the Daily Mirror this is yet a further demonstration of Ramsey’s unique appeal to a wide and varied audience.’ ENDS
