Skanco Invests In Bespoke Staff Training

by isleofman.com 25th November 2011
Local corporate IT provider Skanco Business Systems Limited has just completed a three week training programme focussed on developing the customer service skills of their significantly increased workforce. Skanco has grown considerably in the last six months, with fourteen new staff having joined the company since April in response to increased business. While Skanco normally provides induction training for all of its staff, on this occasion SmartHR were approached in order to provide bespoke training. Eighteen staff were trained across three weeks, with some undertaking the training as a ‘refresher’ course. The training, which was undertaken at Skanco’s Restart business continuity facility in Braddan, focussed on customer care, telephone manner and time management techniques. The training course took a full day, and was done in groups of six employees. Andy Gosnell, Operations Manager at Skanco, commented on the training initiative: “As a customer driven company we believe that regular training like this is paramount to equip our staff with the tools necessary to providing the excellent service expected of Skanco. Furthermore, it is particularly important this year, in the context of our much increased service capacity.” Andy continued: “This is just one element of our continued commitment to training. We also provide specialised training in technical and sales aspects of HP, Apple and Microsoft products, much of which includes sending staff to the mainland.” ENDS
