Last weeks northern counties archery society indoor championships was very prosperous one for all that travelled to Penrith with five county titles coming home these came from an under the weather Barbara Harris who still put in a fantastic performance to not only get a personal best but also lift the prestige’s ladies recurve title. Next up was Bradley Layton he puts in a great shoot to take the junior gents under 14 recurve title by 23 points from his nearest rival, in the junior ladies compound division our very own Kirsten (Bernard) George who took the under 16 junior ladies compound title and the overall junior ladies title. Another Jack and Jill title goes to husband and wife team Jon and Anne Rutland this is their second Jack and Jill title is as many weeks also the Isle of Man Archery Club compound team of Peter Mumford, Sarah Rigby, Kirsten (Bernard) George and Joy Gough picks up the coveted title Barbara Harris – Ladies Recurve Champion (542) Peter Mumford – 2nd Gents Compound (566) Sarah Rigby – 3rd Ladies Compound (561) Kirsten George – Junior Ladies U16 Compound Champion (555) Bradley Layton – Junior Gents U14 Recurve Champion (470) Kirsten (Bernard) George – Overall Junior Ladies Compound Champion (highest score) IOM Archery Club – 1st Compound Team (2233 -Peter Mumford, Sarah Rigby, Kirsten George, Joy Gough) Jon and Anne Rutland – Jack and Jill Trophy (1062) This weeks Fita scratch league shoot saw eight personal bests these came from Billy Lightfoot, Adrian Breed, Marcus Boyd, Anne Rutland, Karen Lott, Colin Moore and the father and son team of Dave and Ethan Moore. Gents recurve saw the best turn out this week with Tony Hartley topping the podium followed again by Dave Berry these pair put up a great fight with Hartley edging it by eleven points and the third step on the podium goes to Billy Lightfoot after putting in a fantastic personal best. Ladies recurve saw Anne Rutland top the scoreboard from Barbara Harris the new NCAS ladies recurve champion with Karen Lott picking up the third step to fill the podium, In the gents compound Colin Moore topped the podium from Peter Mumford who retired from this shoot. Ladies compound saw Aalin George top the table ahead of next week’s national indoor champs just ahead of Sarah Rigby picking up the second step and Joy Gough getting the third step on the podium, in the junior recurve there was only one archer this week and that was the NCAS U14 champ Bradley Layton.
