Another Success for Peel RNLI

by isleofman.com 28th November 2011
The hard working team of Peel Ladies Lifeboat Guild held another very successful evening on Friday 25th. November. The annual savoury and wine evening held at Peel Golf Club, was hailed as the best ever by many of those attending. With a magnificent buffet supplied by the ladies and an auction carried out by Malcolm Kelly the evening raised ?3586. This was increased by a further donation from Tommy Cain from Peel who presented Paddy Kelly ,Deputy Chairlady of the Guild with a cheque for ?570. This was half of the money raised by Tommy during his Parish Walk earlier in the Summer , the other half going to the Hyperbaric Chamber . Paddy thanked Tommy for the wonderful cheque which brought the total for the night to ?4156. A highlight of the evening was when the crew bid ?45 for a bouquet which was later presented to Jackie O’Halloran for her attendance at shouts to supply the crew with soup and sandwiches on their return, the latest being at about 6am when the crew returned from rescuing a pilot boat off the coast of Scotland. The ladies would like to thank all those who helped in any way to make the night such a success. ENDS
