In time for Christmas, Ramsey RNLI Lifeboat shop is once again fully operational thanks to new volunteer helpers stepping forward to join the existing team of dedicated volunteers. The shop is situated on Market Hill in Ramsey, close to St Paul’s Church. The shop’s volunteers look forward to greeting both locals and visitors over the festive season and raising funds for the RNLI charity’s vital work of saving lives at sea.
Visitors to the shop will find a very warm welcome and a veritable host of top quality gifts and merchandise for the nautically and not so nautically minded; seasonal presents, calendars, cards, clothing, puzzles, souvenirs, CDs and also the latest skeet about Ramsey’s Mersey class lifeboat, the RNLB Ann and James Ritchie. The enthusiastic support of the volunteers means that the shop is open Monday to Saturday during the run up to Christmas; rain or shine, calm or storm.
Jacqui and Gail, seasoned hands with Ramsey Lifeboat shop, said “We are really looking forward to the Christmas season and are so very proud of the part that Ramsey’s Lifeboat Shop plays in raising crucial funds for the RNLI. The shop’s success couldn’t have happened without the hard work and tremendous support of our wonderful volunteers, both past and present, and of course yourselves, the public. So please come along and visit us, maybe do a bit of Christmas shopping and support the RNLI at the same time - you will be made very, very welcome. We will be opening the door right up to Christmas Eve afternoon”
Jacqui and Gail both add “However, we still are still very short handed and really need more volunteers to help out in the shop, so if you can spare a couple or so hours a week and feel like joining our team why not pop into the shop for a friendly chat.”
Jacqui continues “After Christmas Eve we will all take a well deserved break and re-open on Friday 13th January. After that and until March we will be opening only at weekends, that is Fridays and Saturdays. But come the beginning of March we fully intend opening Monday to Saturday once again.”
