‘Shred Alert’ from Ramsey Town Commissioners

by isleofman.com 1st December 2011
Ramsey Town Commissioners are dreaming of a green Christmas and urging households who have opted for a real Christmas tree to bring them for recycling to the Commission’s nursery in North Shore Road in the New Year. The trees will be shredded and the clippings used as mulch on the pathways in Poyll Dooey nature reserve. Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Nigel Malpass said: ‘In 2002 Ramsey became the first local authority to recycle natural Christmas trees. I would recommend householders make a “green” New Year’s resolution to reuse, reduce and recycle more. What better way to make an environmentally responsible start to 2012 than by bringing your real Christmas tree for shredding after Twelfth Night.’ The Christmas tree shredding service will be available from Wednesday 4th to Friday 13th January 2012. (Monday to Thursday 8am – 4pm, Friday 8am – 3pm, Saturday 8am – 12 noon). ENDS
