Reservoir Levels Healthy

by isleofman.com 1st December 2011
The Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority has confirmed that water levels in its drinking water reservoirs are at a healthy level for this time of year. The West Baldwin Reservoir (which supplies Douglas, Onchan and the South of the Island) is nearly at 100% of its operational capacity, whilst the Sulby Reservoir (which supplies Ramsey, Peel and the North of the Island) is currently at 84% of its operational capacity, which is 10% higher than the same time last year. Peter Winstanley, Chief Executive of the Water & Sewerage Authority, said: ‘The Authority is fortunate that the upland catchments feeding the reservoirs have received ample rainfall during the autumn months and as a result there is currently no shortage of water in the reservoirs.’ Customers who have further concerns are advised to contact the Water & Sewerage Authority’s Customer Services Department on 695949.
