A travel and tourism website and newsletter are being launched with all of the latest news in one place. The travelnews.im weekly newsletter will be emailed free to all subscribers and feature items covering airlines, ferry companies, hotels, and all other sectors of the Island’s travel, hospitality, and tourism industries. Subscribers can also keep up to date via the travelnews.im Facebook page.
Hattie Castle, Director of travelnews.im, said:
“travelnews.im addresses a need within the Island’s travel, tourism and hospitality sectors to create a news hub with all of the latest information. We understand that everyone involved in travel and tourism is very busy, so the newsletter will give them a news summary in a quick and easy to read format. Initial reaction to travelnews.im has been very positive and we look forward to increasing the number of subscribers and contributors over the coming months.”
travelnews.im - which is supported by the Department of Economic Development and the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce - also carries off-Island news affecting the industry and profiles of well known figures from travel and tourism businesses.
Geoff Corkish, MBE, MHK, Isle of Man Department of Economic Development Political Member responsible for Tourism, said:
“There are a wide variety of exciting activities, attractions and events for visitors with varying interests to enjoy all year round on the Isle of Man and travelnews.im is an excellent way for the travel industry to promote the Island’s offering to a wide audience. The format is very user friendly and subscribers will receive all the latest news hot off the press.”
Mike Hennessy, Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, said:
“This is a really positive stepping stone and those involved should be applauded. For me, all matters tourism related are integral not only to the leisure or events based visitor to the Island, but also to business visitors and indeed the Island’s population. Interest in this initiative should therefore be widespread.”
Initially, travelnews.im is being sponsored by manx2.com but it is a wholly independent company and welcomes advertising from all businesses involved in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors.
