Robin's Flower Cope Well With Sailings Cancellations

by isleofman.com 6th December 2011
The recent spate of cancellations at the Isle of Man Steam Packet has caused several setbacks for many businesses on the Island, with a lack of deliveries resulting in a significant shortage of supplies. Affecting major retailers such as Marks and Spencer, Tesco, and HMV, consumers are worried on how this will impact on product availability especially in the run-up to Christmas. Signature by Robinson’s has coped well with the sailing cancellations this week. Commenting on the extremely adverse weather conditions and the impact it has had on deliveries of flowers, Mark Hotchkiss advised: “It has been a challenging week with the weather and resulting cancellations to the regular sailings. However, our buying team acted proactively after seeing the forecast for the week and rescheduled our fresh flower and produce shipments, so that we caught the Monday afternoon sailing. Since then our carriers have worked hard to ensure that we have had adequate space when the boat has sailed, so that our shipments are not delayed.” ENDS
