Albanty LTC News

by isleofman.com 15th December 2011
This is a reminder to all juniors who attend either Mini Tennis or the weekday coaching squads. The last session before Christmas is this Friday (16th) - Red ball squad plus the two Orange ball sessions. No Mini Tennis on Saturday/Sunday December 17/18 . Coaching will re-start on Monday January 9 with the Yellow ball invitation squad and the usual weekday squads. The Christmas Team tennis event is on Monday December 16 from 11am – 4pm. Each team will have players of different standards playing at their own level with the results adding to a team total. Club Night will not be held on December 22 or 29 but will resume on Tuesday January 3 from 6.30 with back up of the indoor court if weather not good. This will enable members to take some form of exercise after the Christmas/.New Year period. Don’t forget to vote for Mark Cavendish in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Mark did try tennis when it was called Short Tennis but cycling took it’s hold and with such success. So support Mark – he certainly has personality. We are still trying to raise the funds for insulating the indoor court – if you have any ideas or are willing to run an event, please let the secretary know so that events can be co-ordinated. If you are still looking for ideas for Christmas presents why not give an Albany T- shirt which are available at the club, or a sweatshirt or hoodie with the club logo, available at Promenade Shirts. Then there are tennis balls, racquets, new grips – see the club coach, Ian Watson The club president, Bryan Sharp and all the committee wish all our members a very happy Christmas and a healthy and successful 2012. Finally many thanks and Happy Christmas to IOM Newspaper’s sports editor, John Watterson and his staff, for finding room each week to include news from Albany LTC ENDS
