In addition Heron and Brearley has pledged to donate a percentage of any post-match takings generated at The Union to go towards new sports equipment for a school (or schools) to be identified at a later date. Heron and Brearley’s marketing and events manager Cosmo Currey said: ‘The pub cup is a fantastic opportunity for players of all abilities, and for the winning team to have the chance to realise every footballer’s dream to play on the hallowed turf of the Emirates stadium. ‘The tournament’s all about having fun and brightening up those post-Christmas and New Year days. It’s also just the start of a programme of community and sporting events we’ll be putting together throughout 2012, which promises to be an exciting time for the company as we upgrade and renovate some of our managed estates and introduce new consumer offerings. ‘Heron and Brearley is meeting all the costs associated with the on-Island competition and we’re delighted to have the support of King William’s College for this event which is already attracting teams from some of the Island’s biggest names in the finance, accounting and e-gaming sectors. All teams need do is sign up and turn up.’ The competition is open to male players 18 years and over.
