About 6.15 am on Tuesday 3rd January 2012 a fatal road traffic collision occurred on the Castletown to Douglas Road, in the area of the Fairy Bridge. The incident involved two vehicles; a red Honda VFR motorcycle being ridden towards Douglas which collided with a black Vauxhall Zafira, being driven towards Castletown. As a result of the collision the rider of the motorcycle received fatal injuries. The road was closed for several hours whilst Police conducted enquiries at the scene. Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to make contact to assist with the investigation. The next of kin of the motorcycle rider and the Coroner of Inquests have been informed. ENDS
