Fifteen Palace Casino staff in the BEST WESTERN Palace Hotel & Casino have been presented with certificates after they successfully completed bespoke management courses.
Eight staff took part in the two-day Insight Management Course for managers, which covered modules about team building and motivation, taught through a combination of workshops and assessments. A further seven staff completed the Insight Management Course for team leaders and supervisors, incorporating customer care, which was designed to help staff understand the company’s business requirements and how to meet customers’ needs, as well as improving overall operations within the Casino.
The courses were specially developed for the casino staff, who have between two and 42 years’ service, by the Training and Business Development Team at the Isle of Man College, working alongside Casino General Manager Paul Castellucci. The courses were designed to build on the staff’s existing skills and strengths, while underlining the importance of effective communication at all levels. The courses also offered great team building opportunities, through the various activities and assessments.
Similar courses are being planned for other staff of the BEST WESTERN Palace Hotel & Casino and those working across the Sefton Group.
The certificates were presented by Sefton Group Chief Executive Brett Martin and Director of Hotels and Leisure Adrian Brockhouse. Mr Brockhouse said: ‘Congratulations to all staff who took part in and completed the courses. We are committed to the training and development of our staff both to maximise the customer experience and progress them as individuals. These Insight Management Courses were specially designed with our needs, and the needs of our staff in mind and the skills gained will hopefully be of great benefit to the Group as a whole.’
