The police can now confirm that the male who died in the collision near to Fairy Bridge, Ballasalla, early on Tuesday 3 January 2012, was John Barrie SUMNER (46), from Castletown. Mr Sumner, who was known to all as Barrie, was riding his motorbike to work in Douglas when he was involved in the collision. Although witnesses have come forward to assist, the police would like to repeat their request for anyone who was driving in the area about 6.10 to 6.15 am on Tuesday 3 January 2012, to contact them. A file for the Coroner of Inquests is being prepared by the Road Policing Unit, Police HQ. ENDS
