Bridesmaids (cert 15) on Wednesday 11th January Films in Peel start their new film season at the Centenary Centre with Bridesmaids (cert 15) on Wednesday 11th January. Billed as a comedy/romance, Annie, played by Kristen Wiig, is a maid of honour whose life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian and a group of colorful bridesmaids on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. When Annie finds out her best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as her maid of honour. She bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals but with only one chance to get it right. Will she be the perfect maid of honour? You can find out on 11th January at the usual time of 7:45pm at the Centenary Centre. The Films in Peel committee is inviting anyone coming to see the film to dust off that lovely bridesmaid dress they only got the chance to wear once and brighten up these dark winter nights! Tickets are on sale now at Celtic Gold and selling fast! A limited number of reservation tickets are available from Mostly Manx (Douglas), Shakti Man ( Ramsey) and Thompson Travel (Port Erin). The runtime is 125 minutes and doors open at 7:15pm. Other films this season include a programme of award winning shorts as part of the global Future Shorts Festival (cert 18) on 25th January, highly acclaimed TT documentary Closer to the Edge (cert 15) on 8th February, locally produced film Albatross (cert 15A) on 22nd February, the much awaited thriller Tinker, tailor, Soldier, Spy (cert 15) on 14th March and new adaptation of Jane Eyre (cert PG-13) on 28th March.
