Treasury Minister Supports MEA

by isleofman.com 6th January 2012
Following the news that MEA have sent a team of overhead linesmen to Scotland to aid in restoring supplies to thousands without power, following the severe weather: Treasury Minister and former MEA Chairman Eddie Teare MHK commented, “Investment over recent years has reinforced the MEA network and we are now seeing the reliability of supply that results from that. We accept that due to our location we can expect extreme weather conditions, but it is encouraging to note that even with the persistently strong winds that we have experienced in recent months, our network performance ranks amongst the best in Europe. I am delighted not only with performance of the network but of the staff as well, because investment is worthless without the enthusiastic support, commitment and co-operation of the workforce.” ENDS
