Manx Telecom Appoints Business Development Manager

by isleofman.com 6th January 2012
Manx Telecom has appointed Sarah Creighton as a manager within its Business Development team. Sarah has worked for the company since 1996 and her most recent role was as Manager of Retail Operations with responsibility for Manx Telecom’s stores in Strand Street and Victoria Street, Douglas. She also played a key role in ensuring the successful opening of the company’s flagship new store in October 2011. Sarah commented: “I am very excited to now be a part of our small but highly focused Business Development team. My role will be to assist the team in exploring new off-Island revenue opportunities as well as account managing some of our existing key partners. Our international business is focused on using Manx Telecom’s assets and infrastructure to develop bespoke solutions in areas such as machine to machine communications via the GSM network, and with our extensive network of roaming agreements.” Sarah was responsible for company training in her first role when she joined Manx Telecom’s human resources department in 1996. Due to her passion for new technology, Sarah was promoted into a newly formed part of the business in 1998 that eventually became the Product Management Team. Her role within this department involved many product launches including the Manxnet portfolio which included the manx.net website, Click/Freedom dialup internet, mail, broadband and webhosting and the mobile data services starting with GPRS (2G) and moving on to 3G and HSDPA. Manx Telecom was the world’s first operator to launch a 3G mobile service. Always on the look out for new challenges, Sarah was pleased to be offered the opportunity to open Manx Telecom’s Strand Street store in May 2007 which quickly became a busy outlet for mobile sales and support. Sarah, who cut the ribbon on Manx Telecom’s new store when it opened on October 12, added: “My role grew to become manager of our stores in Strand Street and Victoria Street, and I was very proud to see our vision of delivering the very best customer service under one roof in our flagship store which launched to great success last year.” Sarah has a wealth of knowledge about communications technology and provided expert input into 3FM’s ‘Talking Apps’ slot on Jason Quinn’s Saturday morning show. - ENDS -
