Request for Information

by isleofman.com 20th January 2012

At 0840am on Thursday 19th January 2012, two vehicles were parked outside Arbory School, Ballabeg whilst the children were being dropped at school.

The drivers had exited their vehicles and observed an open backed van drive past with a metal rod protruding from the side of it.  This rod is then believed to have collided with the wing mirror of one of the cars causing damage.  It is then believed that the metal rod became dislodged from the back of the van and landed on the other vehicle, thankfully not causing any damage.

The driver of the van made no attempt to stop at the scene.

Police are anxious to trace this vehicle and the driver and would like to emphasise that when carrying loads in open trucks or trailers that the contents should be secure so that no damage or injury could be likely from debris or items being thrown from the vehicle.

Anyone with any information to identify this vehicle is urged to contact the Police.  The vehicle was described only as a white or blue open backed truck with some sort of coloured emblem on the side.  After the rod was dislodged the van carried on towards the Colby direction.
