Magic Carpets – 56 v C&S Joinery C – 18
Magic Carpets kept their title hopes alive, with a stunning victory over the division one newcomers C&S. It wasn’t a storming victory, but a calm and well worked one, with Magic Carpets staying calm under any pressure C&S put on them. There were a few brief periods when C&S looked like they might begin a comeback, but nothing seemed to develop. Magic Carpets have given themselves a huge boost, ahead of the week break they will enjoy.
PoTM: Laura Crocker (Magic Carpets); Emily Munro (C&S C)

PokerStars – 34 v Manx Glass Saints – 20
This match was much closer, than the score implies, but PokerStars put in a huge last quarter effort, to put the game beyond reach. Manx Glass had a bit of a wobbly start, but they overcame it and really brought the game to PokerStars. From then on it could have been anyone’s game, but PokerStars maintained the all important lead. They didn’t panic under the pressure and increased their lead, as the game neared its end.
PoTM: Rebecca Cubbon (PokerStars); Tracy Craig (Manx Glass Saints)

SMP Ballasalla A – 42 v C&S Joinery B – 13
Ballasalla A showed why they were unbeaten in the league, last season, as they brushed C&S aside. Both teams made a strong start to the game and C&S held off the reigning champions, for a good portion of the first quarter. Balla weren’t held off for much longer and began to build up a large lead. Showing huge respect to the competitors, Balla kept up the pace until they end and refused to rest on their laurels, forcing C&S to work hard for every point.
PoTM: Ashley Hall (SMP) ; Ellan Charmer (C&S B)

C&S Joinery A – 42 v Thompson A – 24
It might have been a bad day for the other C&S teams, but their A team wasn’t going to follow the trend. They immediately got to work and put Thompson on the back foot, who seemed to struggle with the quick opener. Eventually Thompson caught up and took some of the momentum from C&S, but not before C&S had built a substantial lead. The Thompson revival was a little too late and C&S put themselves top of the table, with the victory.
PoTM: Hannah Leece (C&S A); Lesley Patterson (Thompson A)

Route 1 Connections – 26 v Missfits A – 41
With the potential to jump into the top three, in the premier division, Route 1 put up a solid fight. However, it wasn’t enough to keep Missfits at bay and they had to settle for damage limitation. Missfits have enjoyed a good return to the premier division and this game was no different. Route 1 enjoyed some good run of form, but Missfits took the lion’s share, when it came to possession.
PoTM: Emma Williams (Missfits A); Tracy Dentith (Route 1)

SMP Ballasalla C – 43 v Moore Stephens Hurricanes – 13
SMP Ballasalla C made a big impression, in only their second game in the second division, and came back from their opening week’s defeat. Moore Stephens showed promise early on and held Balla out of their circle, for much of the early game. Balla eventually broke through and it was like a floodgate, with Balla racking up the points. Moore Stephens have struggled in their debut season, but show signs of improvement as the season goes on.
PoTM:  Danielle Murphy (SMP C); Sophie Baxter (Moore Stephens)
