The Sefton Express Hotel, located opposite Isle of Man Airport, celebrated its 5th birthday on Thursday (January 19).
The 34-bedroom hotel was built on the site of the former Manx Airlines’ offices and is just a four-minute walk from Isle of Man Airport. It was opened in January 2007 by then Chief Minister Tony Brown and is now close to hitting 20,000 bookings.
Sefton Express Manager David Hill said: ‘The Sefton Express has proved to be a popular venue over the last five years and we’re delighted with how it has continued to perform. We have a fantastic mix of clients through the doors, from regular business travellers to movie film crews. We’re confident the Sefton Express can look forward to another successful five years and beyond. And as a thank you to our top customers and corporate clients we will be delivering boxes of branded cupcakes to nearby businesses on Thursday!’
Isle of Man Airport Director Ann Reynolds said: ‘The Sefton Express has proved to be a great asset to the Airport. It provides excellent flexibility for travellers, such as those who arrive late in the evening having made an unexpected trip to the Island or those who want to be right next to the Airport for an early morning flight.’
Geoff Corkish, Member of the Department of Economic Development with responsibility for Tourism, said: ‘We congratulate the Sefton Express in providing this valued addition to our Island’s range of hotel accommodation. It remains a super initiative which has proved so popular with our visitors and local residents.’
