RNLI SOS Day

by isleofman.com 30th January 2012

Peel RNLI Ladies Guild had a successful SOS Day on Friday 27th January in conjunction with the national collection day.

The ladies set off on Friday morning with a coffee morning held in St Patricks church Hall and was well attended by supporters of the RNLI. This raised ?383.
Two of the ladies then donned their woollies to make a collection at Shoprite, a big supporter of the lifeboat which raised a further ?130.
Not satisfied with this a quiz evening run by the ladies and Ernie Baker at Peel Legion added another ?363 to the pot, giving a total for the day of ?878.55.
This is not the final total as a sponsored line dance held at the Corrin Hall is to give half the proceeds to the RNLI along with several school functions which have yet to finish.
The fund raising continues on Sunday 5th with the crew holding their annual car wash at the station from 10am until 2pm.
Peel RNLI would like to thank all who have supported them thus far and a full tally will be given in the next few weeks.
