The Sefton Hotel Wedding Fair

by isleofman.com 7th February 2012

The Sefton Hotel, which was recently granted a licence to hold civil weddings, will host its annual wedding fair on Saturday 18th of February.

The landmark hotel on Douglas promenade will host a range of exhibitors at the event, which will be open from 1pm and 4pm in the stunning Atrium area.  Couples will have the opportunity to talk to staff from both The Sefton and BEST WESTERN Palace Hotel & Casino about planning their special day, including details about the ceremony, decor, menus, entertainment and accommodation.

Both hotels, which are owned by the Sefton Group, were recently granted three-year licences to stage civil weddings, following a change in Manx law allowing marriages in venues other than churches and registry offices.

Since the announcement of the ‘Approved Place’ status, there have been numerous inquiries at both venues.  Sefton Group Hotels Manager Paul Forrest said: ‘The response since we announced that couples can now get married in either hotel has been extremely positive and gives people who want to stay on-Island more options.  The Wedding Fair at The Sefton will give us the opportunity to showcase both hotels alongside all the other exhibitors.’

Other exhibitors include: Platinum Cars, Freedom Travel, Beautiful Blooms, Finishing Touches, Shan’s Photography, Graih My Chree Stationery, Steve Woodley Photography, Marianne McCourt Photography, Switched On Entertainment/Manx Marquees, Tours Isle of Man, Flower Studio, Tracey Bell, Island Chocolate Fountain, Signature Flowers, PAOS Ltd Stationery, Reverend James McGowan on behalf of the Church of England and John Craige Toastmaster.
