The Claremont Hotel is pleased to announce that their new bedroom design has landed them a ‘Highly Commended’ Hotel Interior UK accolade in the 2011 Bloomberg International Hotel Awards.
As part of an ongoing ?2 million design overhaul to upgrade the hotel’s decor, to include the Claremont Hotel reception, lounge areas and bedrooms, owners of the Sleepwell Hotels enlisted the services of an international design team. With the second phase of the new Luxury bedrooms now completed, the investment so far is already paying off, earning the hotel recognition at the prestigious International Hotel Awards, held at The Savoy Hotel in London.
The International Hotel Awards are an evolution of the long standing International Property Awards. The award winners’ logo is recognised globally as a symbol of excellence in the industry. This was the first year that the hospitality industry has had its own awards programme, a move taken due to the high number of commercial entries. This underlines the competitiveness of the awards in which The Claremont has now been recognised. The judging panel consisted of twenty leading business representatives from companies such as Google and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Mark Wilson, Managing Director of Sleepwell Hotels, expressed his delight at the award: “Whilst we were confident that our time spent on consumer research and intricate design details would be well received, we had no idea just how much of an impact this would have. Not only have we been awarded this exclusive ‘Highly Commended’ International Hotel recognition, but our new Luxury Rooms were also shortlisted for the ‘’Best Design Award 2011’ for the renowned UK Caterer and Hotelkeeper publication. We are extremely pleased that the innovative vision we have for The Claremont Hotel has received such immense praise from experts within the hospitality industry.’’
The final plans of the Claremont redevelopment is currently in design, with the hotel planning to fully complete the refurbishment of the entire reception and ground floor lounge areas by the end the year.
