Chief Minister of Isle of Man Visits Ramsey’s Biggest Employer

by isleofman.com 8th February 2012

Today, the Honourable Allan Bell, Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, and the Minister of Economic Development, the Honourable John Shimmin, visited regulated corporate services group, Charterhouse Group International, at its headquarters in Ramsey.

Charterhouse Group International is the parent company of Charterhouse Lombard Ltd, a provider and manager of offshore companies and trusts,

The Chief Minister’s and Minister of Economic Development’s visit is to recognise the role that Charterhouse Group International plays on the island and in the local community, not only in the jobs it creates in the north of the island but also as an international company with an office in Dubai.

Matthew Huddleston, Chief Financial Officer, Charterhouse Group International says: “We are delighted at the interest the Chief Minister is taking in our business, the largest employer in Ramsey. His visit is incredibly important to us, as most of our employees live and work in his constituency. Charterhouse has been an integral part of the local economy, not just the island but also the town of Ramsey for many years”.

“The unique accessibility to our Government and their willingness to engage in close working relationships with the private sector is a key competitive advantage that all businesses on the island should leverage in these difficult economic times” continues Huddleston “We fully support the Chief Minister in his endeavours to further raise the profile of the Isle of Man on the global stage”.

The Chief Minister commented: “Charterhouse Group International is a significant employer in the north of the island and, through its work internationally and in the UK, is assisting in dispelling the misconception that the Island is simply about tax driven financial services companies. Charterhouse Lombard provides high-quality, client-focused, regulated and fully compliant administration services across the globe and is the sort of exporter of services of which the island should be very proud.”
