Police are appealing for information regarding a vehicle that sustained damage in the York Road area of Douglas overnight on Saturday in to Sunday of last weekend. The vehicle in question was parked in a legal position close to the traffic lights at the junction of York Road and Somerset Road between the hours of 11.30pm on Saturday 11th and 10am on Sunday 12th February.
This vehicle has sustained damage to the front driver’s side bumper and headlight area which appears to have been caused by another vehicle, possibly white in colour. The driver of the offending vehicle must have been aware of the damage caused, such is the extent of the damage and the positioning of the vehicle. The owner of the parked vehicle is now facing a costly repair bill and his car being taken off the road whilst work is carried out.
Drivers are reminded of the statutory requirements to stop and report a collision where damage has occurred and provide certain details, if the owner of the vehicle is not present the matter should be reported to the police as soon as is practicable and in any case within 24 hours, however minor that damage may appear.

Between 6pm and 6.40pm on the evening of Friday 10th February 2012 the driver of a green Nissan Micra motor vehicle parked his car on the car park of the Shoprite store, Derby Road in Peel.
Whilst in the store an unknown car has driven into the green Micra damaging the front nearside wing and then drove away without leaving their details on the car.
Police would like to hear from the driver concerned or anybody that may have information as to the vehicle involved.
All information will be treated in confidence.

Overnight Friday 10th in to Saturday 11th February 2012 a window was broken at ‘Hairzone’ hairdressers in Castle Street, Peel. The hairdressers is situated at the top of castle Street just next to The Market Place. Anyone with any information in relation to this damage is urged to contact PC KERRUISH at Peel Police Station on 842208.
