Make Do and Mend

by isleofman.com 16th February 2012

‘Make Do and Mend’ is the philosophy behind this quilting workshop with Barbara Kelly being held at Onchan Library on Thursday 8th March 6 – 7 p.m. The workshop is suitable for all abilities, including beginners, and is a great way of recycling old scraps of material. Old materials have a vintage style charm and nostalgia, and are perfect for creating keepsakes to give to family and friends.

If the idea of a whole quilt seems overwhelming, think about framing a small piece of quilting, or using it to make cards, gift tags, toys, cushions or Cath Kidston style bunting.
Barbara Kelly lives in Onchan, and is well known for her beautiful crafts through Arbory Bears.

If you are interested in coming along, please book places from Onchan Library: Onchan.library@onchan.org.im or Tel: 621228. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.

The workshop is part of Onchan Library’s Craft and Chat Club for adults. The club meets on the second Thursday of each month. Craft lovers are welcome to drop in with current projects – knitting, sewing, painting, or any other type of craft. The library would also like to hear from you if you would like to give a demonstration, or hold a display of work at the library.
