In 1957 Robert McGregor McIntyre attained the elusive 100 mph lap of the TT Mountain Course on a Gilera 500cc -4.
Only 4 years later, Bob took a Honda 250cc-4 round at 99.58 mph but the engine of his machine cried enough at Quarry Bends on the final lap.
Bob coasted to a stop at the Sulby Glen Hotel and dismounted in front of TTFan Ian Huntly who recorded this event on his camera.
Bob died in 1962, so Ian wishes to commemorate Bobs magnificent lap on his Honda by placing a plaque at the Sulby Glen Hotel and hopes that some other fans may wish to contribute to the cost of a quality, secure blue and white plaque....
