Mike Dee, Manx Telecom CEO, IoM 2012 Budget Comment

by isleofman.com 23rd February 2012

Mike Dee, Manx Telecom CEO, welcomed Treasury Minister Eddie Teare’s announcement that the Government will introduce a ‘medium term spending review’ this summer in which budgets for all departments will be set for the next three years. Mr Dee commented:

“I was pleased to hear that the Government is introducing a three year plan so that each Department can look well ahead and determine how they are going to achieve the savings that are required. Overall, I think this Budget has struck the right balance between setting tighter controls on expenditure while maintaining confidence in the Island’s economy. There are still many more difficult decisions to be made, but the Minister has made an important step forward in addressing the economic challenges ahead.”

Manx Telecom is the Isle of Man’s largest telecommunications and internet provider and one of the biggest private sector employers with more than 300 staff on the Island.
