Fairbairn Private Bank Maintains Consistency As A Best Company To Work For

by isleofman.com 28th February 2012

For the eighth consecutive year, Fairbairn Private Bank has been listed as one of the best small companies to work for and ranked impressively at number 65 in the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For 2012, published this month.
It is one of only three companies to have remained on this national list for the last eight consecutive years and remains the only bank and the only Isle of Man financial services business to feature in this highly coveted listing.

Greg Horton, Fairbairn Private Bank’s managing director, commented: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all our staff for voting us a best 100 small company this year, and every year since 2005. This year’s position is particularly heartening given the very challenging environment currently surrounding the financial services industry, and in particular, banks. I am immensely proud of our team and this remarkable achievement reflects their continued commitment to the company and its clients.”

Mr Horton continued: “Our placing within the list for the eighth consecutive year also reflects a powerful consistency around what our staff feel about the business, and underlines their continuing satisfaction with their working environment. We are a highly motivated team with a strong commitment to the personal development of our people and to providing exemplary service to our clients.”

Fairbairn Private Bank has been listed in the small companies category, for organisations with 50 – 250 employees, representing a diverse mix of sectors and industries.  This listing results from the largest employee survey of its kind with over 1,000 organisations involved and over 231,000 employees responding this year. The survey focuses on workplace engagement and aims to show the level to which employees feel personally involved with their organisation. The eight key factors measured are wellbeing; personal growth; fair dealing; company leadership; employees’ feelings towards their managers, team and company; and what the company gives back to society.

This latest accolade follows a long list of awards for the bank, the most recent of which was the Three Star “extraordinary” accreditation* achieved in this year’s UK Best Companies Guide.  This incorporates companies of all sizes and industries across the entire UK and Fairbairn Private Bank is one of only 113 companies throughout the UK to have received the maximum Three Star Status.
