Search for a Star 2012 – The Grand Final

by isleofman.com 5th March 2012

The auditions are done, the heats are over, it’s time – to face – the PUBLIC!

Search for a Star 2012 has reached it’s climax with the final being held on Friday  evening at The Crescent Nightclub in Douglas.

Six of the islands most talented singers have made it through to the final following a fierce 5 week competition.  Lyndsey Smart, Rhys Griffiths, Randal McKay, Mark Murley, Adam Brammall and Sam Leneghan are all hoping to be crowned the winner and receive the first prize of ?1000 and a professionally recorded CD.

One of the judges, Stuart Hampson, owner of Tanfastic Sun Centres, one of our sponsors said “2012 has really seen the bar being raised in the level of the singers.  Each of them who are in this weeks grand final thoroughly deserve their place.”

There are still a limited number of tickets available for the final and interested parties should contact Age Concern IoM on 613044.  Tickets are priced at ?3 each with all the proceeds going to Age Concern.

Fundraising Officer Carole Male added “Search for as Star is a lot of fun and is one of our biggest fundraising events.  However without the support of our sponsors The Crescent, Heron & Brearley, DAM Productions, D&D’s Mobile Disco, 3FM, Tanfastic and Ye Olde Manx Spitting Pig Company we would not be able to run the competition to the standard it is.”
