Valentine’s Event Boosts Funds for The Children’s Centre

by isleofman.com 6th March 2012

Fundraisers making personalised Valentine’s Day chocolate hearts for their loved ones helped to raised funds for The Children’s Centre. The Island’s leading charity for families and children teamed up with Davison’s to offer romantics the chance to make unique gifts. Visitors to Davison’s Ice Cream parlour, Villa Marina Arcade, decorated chocolate hearts with a special message for the love of their life, and there was expert guidance from a team of Davison’s ‘chocalateers’ who assisted with gift wrapping. A total of 300 took part in the event and raised ?900.

Juana Warburton, Development Manager at The Children’s Centre, said:
“The event was a great success and we would like to say a big thank you to Davison’s and everyone who participated. Fundraising events such as this are vital to support our charitable projects which include MOBEX, Out2Play, the Child Contact Centre, the Community Farm and other community projects.”

Ian Davison, Managing Director, said Davison’s was pleased to continue its support for the charity. Last year the company sponsored an ice cream making competition to promote Children’s Week.
