Leading Island Photographer Receives BIPP Long-Service Award

by isleofman.com 7th March 2012

Leading Island photographer Andrew Barton has received a 20 years’ long-service award from the British Institute of Professional Photography.

Congratulating Mr Barton on his ‘very worthy achievement’ institute president Roy Mieklejon said members were ‘the lifeblood’ of the BIPP and that his continued support along with that of other long-serving members had helped shape the institute into a ‘thriving organisation’.

Mr Barton, who is also a qualified corporate member of the Master Photographers’ Association, began his career in photography in 1986 and set up Andrew Barton Photography Limited in Ramsey with his wife Diane in 2005 from where he provides a general practice service for commercial, industrial, press, promotional, portraiture and wedding commissions. In more recent years the business has expanded into PR and communications and counts some of the Island’s most prominent organisations among its clients. He is also an active supporter of amateur photographers and is much in demand among the Island’s camera clubs for his judging and mentoring skills.

Mr Barton said: ‘While the technology I employ has advanced enormously over the past 20 years, what has not changed is the importance I place on establishing a close working relationship with the client in order to bring true creativity to the brief and produce consistently high-quality work that exceeds expectations every time.’
