by isleofman.com 7th March 2012

The Manx Heritage Foundation Music Development Team is holding a workshop weekend for musicians based at the MHF offices at The University Centre Stable Building (Nunnery site) this weekend 9-11 March.  The workshops will be led by Donegal singer Noeleen Ni Cholla and Belfast-based dancer and instrumentalist Tim Flaherty. Both experienced tutors, the pair are looking forward to their first visit to the Island. Noeleen has performed all around the world and with a whole host of well-known singers from the Gaelic world. She will be teaching Irish solo and harmony (choral) singing and will help lead a Bree youth trad music session.  A dancer who performs with Belfast’s All Set, Tim will teach both set-dancing and sean nos (step) dancing to people with some previous experience. Tim will also teach Irish tunes to any instrument as well as to the Bree youth music session.

Contact Breesha on: mhfmusic(AT)mhf.org.im or 695784 to reserve a place. Young musicians can join in the Bree youth music session.  All other workshops are for adult musicians only.
