C&S Joinery C – 28 v PokerStars – 27 Reports by Sadhbh O'Shea
C&S completed a hat-trick of victories over PokerStars, as they edged passed last year’s plate victors. PokerStars got off to the better start, by quickly opening up the scoring, and really began to pile the pressure on. For much of the early game, it looked like PokerStars would take another step closer to defending their title, however, C&S didn’t panic and made a comeback, in the latter stages.
PoTM: Kira Longshaw (C&S Joinery C); Kira McAteer (PokerStars).
C&S Joinery A – 50 v Ballasalla B – 19 by Sadhbh O'Shea
Still licking their wounds, from missing out on the league title by a point, C&S looked dominant against Ballasalla B. C&S missed out on the cup title last year by a point also and looked like they were keen to make amendments, as they began building up a big lead early on. Balla were soon left to trying to score some consolation goals, while their defence worked extra hard. There were a few errors from C&S, but that didn’t stop them from completing certain victory.
PoTM: Sarah Corkish (C&S Joinery A); Danielle Murphy (SMP Ballasalla B).
Fencibles A – 44 v Anglo Manx Electrical Services – 22 by Sadhbh O'Shea
There was only ever going to be one victor, in this game, with Fencibles putting Anglo Manx to the sword. Anglo Manx were first to score, but the joy didn’t last long and Fencibles soon had victory in sight. Anglo Manx enjoyed some patches of strong play and kept Fencibles subdued, for a short while. They couldn’t keep them down and beat them, by their biggest margin this season.
PoTM: Voirrey Acheson (Fencibles A); Sarah Kewley (Anglo Manx).
Missfits A – 31 v Route 1 Connections – 35 by Sadhbh O'Shea
Missfits fielded a stronger side than last week, but failed to turn their fortunes around. Route 1 took advantage of the slow starting Missfits and opened up a healthy lead. From then on, Route 1 did just enough to keep themselves ahead. Missfits put plenty of pressure on their opposition, but it was too little too late to change the result. This is the first time, this season, that Route 1 have got one over on their Premier Division rivals.
PoTM: Tilly Davies (Missfits A); Nichola Spencer (Route 1).
pwc Manx Gems Emeralds – 23 v Intersport – 27 by Sadhbh O'Shea
Intersport continued their form, that made them the second top rookie side of the season, by beating Division One side Emeralds. Intersport never game Emeralds a chance to get into a rhythm, which helped them to take the victory. This should have been a walk over, on paper, for Emeralds, but Intersport ensured this wasn’t the case. There were some worrying moments, for the rookies, in the latter stages of the game, but they managed to hold Emeralds off.
PoTM: Natalie Wiseman (Emeralds); Amy Musson (Intersport).
C&S Joinery D - 10 v Missfits B – 19 by Sadhbh O'Shea
Missfits B made it a slightly happier day, for the Missfits family, as they brushed C&S aside. It didn’t start too well for them and they struggled to get past the C&S defence. Neither team had it all their way, but it was Missfits who edged it out. They took advantage of the mistakes from the C&S team, who failed to convert their many chances into goals.
PoTM: Grace O’Hegan (C&S D); Mel Trees (Emeralds).
