Primary Schools’ Cross Country Championships

by isleofman.com 19th March 2012

These will be held at Noble’s Park on Thursday March 29th from 1.30pm.

This event replaces the former cross country competition at Poulsom Park, Castletown, and with 22 primary schools taking part, each with two teams (6 boys and 6 girls), we are set to have a splendid competition.

This event is organised jointly by Rob Sellors, Headteacher at Cronk-y-Berry Primary School, and Andy Fox, Headteacher at St Ninian’s High School, both accomplished athletes. Year 13 students from SNHS will be helping with the organisation, setting up of the course and the marshalling and scoring.

Races take place in the top fields near Glencrutchery Road, the boys’ race starting at 1.30pm and the girls’ race half an hour later. Each race is two laps around the top field – around a mile in total.

The presentations will take place at around 2.30pm near the Pavilion.
