Chairman’s End-of-year Reception Illustrates ‘Shared Desire’ to Advance Ramsey Regeneration

by isleofman.com 29th March 2012

Chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners Captain Nigel Malpass has said that securing Ramsey’s future would come ‘not through legislation but passion of the townspeople for the town to flourish.’

Captain Malpass, who was speaking at a reception held in Ramsey town hall to mark the end of his year as chairman, went on to say that  everyone on his guest list that evening clearly ‘shared a desire’ to see the town become revitalised and resilient to economy uncertainty.

He went on to say that he had considered it a ‘great honour’ to have been elected the previous year as chairman and that to have been re-elected for a second year the honour was ‘truly fantastic’. In closing he paid tribute to his fellow Commissioners and officers of the Commission who, together with wife Gill and daughter Emma, had supported him during the past 12 months and extended his thanks to deputy chairman Sylvia Beattie for assisting him so graciously with his schedule of engagements.
