The Leader of Douglas Borough Council Councillor David Christian JP spoke for all Members of the Council and staff when he expressed his delight at learning that Mark Cavendish, Honorary Freeman of the Borough of Douglas and acknowledged as ‘the world’s fastest man on two wheels’ had become a father.

Mr Cavendish’s partner, Ms Peta Todd, gave birth to a baby girl, Delilah Grace Cavendish, on Tuesday, April 3.

Councillor Christian said: ‘Douglas Borough Council is delighted that one of the Borough’s honorary Freemen, a Manxman who is an outstanding ambassador for the Isle of Man, has become a father.
